Let's not settle for all those standard greasy game day snacks this year. There are so many ways to snack happy while keeping things a little lighter. Here are some crowd-pleasing ideas to try!
When it comes to dips, you can't beat a good old fashioned guacamole. My easy guacamole recipe only has a few ingredients and takes just minutes to make!
Another easy dip idea that people usually buy instead of make is hummus. And if you've ever made hummus before, you'll know that it tastes SO much better than the store-bought stuff. It's surprisingly easy to make, and my favorite version is this perfect roasted red pepper hummus recipe.
This one has become a family-favorite at our house: stuffed bacon cream cheese jalapeno poppers. They don't need more of introduction than that! And no one would guess these are actually lighter than traditional jalapeno poppers.
If you've got vegetarians joining the party, these baked vegetarian chili cheese taquitos are easy to make, and meat-eaters won't even notice they're actually made with vegetarian chili! #sneakychef ;)
If you're in a hurry and don't have time to make homemade hummus or guacamole, you can always grab a few store-bought ingredients, place them on a large cutting board or platter with some whole grain bagel chips, and let your guests assemble their own hummus snack bites. Simple, interactive, and easy to customize for each person.
Last, but certainly not least is one of the most popular recipes on my blog: homemade sour cream and onion mix. You can make a batch of this mix and sprinkle it over popcorn or mix into sour cream or Greek yogurt for a quick alternative to regular ranch dip.
Happy Game Day!
