It's been a while since I've posted a dessert-themed smoothie, so I thought a new one would be the perfect treat for a busy Monday!  If you love sweets and you love smoothies, you should definitely check out my apple pie breakfast smoothie and peach cobbler smoothie.  But today, it's all about cherry pie!

Cherry pie is one of my favorite pies, but it's definitely more of a summer treat, so for a winter (plus healthier) cherry pie experience, I went for some frozen cherries (the perfect way to enjoy ripe cherries all year round!) then added the rest of my "pie smoothie" fixins'.

Whenever I try to make smoothies taste like a dessert that has a crust, I use instant oats. They have a slightly nutty/grainy flavor that gives a hint of crust taste in the smoothie, plus they're a whole grain, so boost the fiber of the smoothie!

I added some chopped apple for sweetness, a bit of vanilla for more of the "pie" flavor, and creamy Greek yogurt for a lovely texture.  All and all, this smoothie came out to be quite the treat, and I hope you will enjoy having "pie" for breakfast as much as I do!  ;)
